Camping (locked to Joe, backdated to Sept 29th)

Seeing as how he and Neil had been fighting about damn near everything all week, Logan had been more than a little eager to go camping with Joe by the time Saturday morning rolled around. So eager, in fact, that he'd already been to the compound to find a sleeping bag in the clothes box (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle themed no less), and had packed his make-shift bag before Joe had even come to find him.

For once Logan was ahead of the game, knocking on Joe's door to see if he was ready.

God, he'd never thought he'd be so eager to stare at trees for nearly forty-something hours.

"Hey, you ready?" he asked, knocking once and then pushing the door open a crack. "I grabbed some food for us to take or whatever... so, uh, I'm ready to go when you are man."

"Kinda wish there was some place like that here," Joe admitted. "Some cabin in the middle of the fucking jungle or something, somewhere to just go to, to escape."

"We should do that," Logan said, obviously still stoned. "We should just... build a fucking cabin. In the middle of nowhere. How awesome would that be, man?"

"Pretty fucking awesome," Joe agreed, although he wasn't sure either of them could build a cabin without some help. "Yeah, we should do that, we should find a place and just build."

"We should make Cutter help," Logan said firmly. "Make him see that we can all be okay."

"All be okay, like a big happy family?" Joe asked with a laugh. He doubted Cutter had any interest in being okay with Joe.

"I'm gonna ask him to do it," Logan said simply, making it clear that his mind was made up about it.

"Okay, man, whatever you want," Joe said, still looking amused. "Bet he won't be interested. Last time I tried to talk to him about it, he actually fucking ran away."

"He ran away?" Logan asked with a laugh. "Are you serious?"

"Yeah. He just fucking bolted, man," Joe said with a grin. Of course, he got the feeling that Cutter did that a lot when he didn't want to deal with something. "It was awhile ago. Months."

"That's fucking nuts," Logan laughed, rolling onto his side.

"Yeah, well, it's how some people deal, right?" Joe asked, still grinning. "Some people just bolt when they don't wanna deal with shit."

"I just... don't get it," Logan replied. "Did you tell him you were mad at him or something?"

"No, didn't say a damn thing to him," Joe replied, shaking his head. "We were talking and he was acting fucking weird, so I asked him what's up and that was what came out."

"We need to build a cabin together," Logan said again, deciding that was the solution.

His foot creeped over, nudging Joe's calf, and he batted his glassy eyes at the older man. "You should cook us some food. That's what parental type people do. I saw it on Seventh Heaven."

"What the fuck is a Seventh Heaven?" Joe asked, but he sat up and grabbed his bag, dragging it closer. "And what kinda food do you want?"

"It's this show... about a family of religious people, who hug and take in stray children. They're always having family dinners and shit. I think the dad's like, a preacher or something and he had a hot daughter..." Logan said, trying to explain.

"And I want, I dunno, edible food."

"Real fucking helpful, man," Joe said with a snort, but he extracted some of the food he'd brought, some chicken-like thing and bread and some vegetables.

"That's me, helpful," Logan said, flopping onto his back again and enjoying the rest of his buzz.

Joe tossed the loaf of bread onto Logan's chest and said, "Hey, man, I'm not doing all the fucking work. Get some bread out."

"I'm fucking tired, Joe," Logan complained, rolling back onto his side and holding the bread like it was some sort of teddy bear.

"Are you cuddling the fucking bread?" Joe asked, looking over at Logan as he fought a grin. "Jesus, it doesn't take much effort to grab me a couple slices."

Logan mumbled something unintelligible, but didn't actually make any effort to grab Joe some bread... or to stop holding it like it was his best friend.

"You're not much of a fucking help," Joe said with a laugh, holding out his hand. "Gimme the goddamn bread back if you can't help me then."

"I'm helping," Logan sighed, pulling open the bag and offering Joe a single slice of bread.

Joe took the bread and then held his hand out again for another piece. "C'mon, gimme another. Two pieces of bread make a sandwich."
