Camping (locked to Joe, backdated to Sept 29th)

Seeing as how he and Neil had been fighting about damn near everything all week, Logan had been more than a little eager to go camping with Joe by the time Saturday morning rolled around. So eager, in fact, that he'd already been to the compound to find a sleeping bag in the clothes box (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle themed no less), and had packed his make-shift bag before Joe had even come to find him.

For once Logan was ahead of the game, knocking on Joe's door to see if he was ready.

God, he'd never thought he'd be so eager to stare at trees for nearly forty-something hours.

"Hey, you ready?" he asked, knocking once and then pushing the door open a crack. "I grabbed some food for us to take or whatever... so, uh, I'm ready to go when you are man."

"Aren't I supposed to protect you from the boogey-man?" Joe asked, still grinning as well. "Isn't that the way this shit works?"

"I was never afraid of the boogie man," Logan assured Joe. "When there's a real monster in the house, your imagination doesn't have time to invent one for you."

Joe's grin disappeared at that, although he hoped the dark hid it from Logan. "Yeah," he agreed quietly, unsure what else to say.

Logan noticed the change in Joe's tone, and promptly pulled the covers from his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sleeping bag over his head.

"Are you fucking hiding under there?" Joe asked curiously, glancing over when he saw the movement.

"No," was Logan's simple and muffled reply.

Joe reached over and rested his hand on top of Logan's head, rubbing against it over the sleeping bag.

"You're messing up my hair," Logan said from under the bag.

"Your hair is already messed up," Joe pointed out. "Because you're under the fucking blanket."

Logan made a muffled noise and burrowed even deeper under the covers.

"Besides, who the fuck do you have to impress out here?" Joe asked, rubbing his hand harder against Logan's head on purpose now. "I don't give a shit what your hair looks like."

Logan said something else, also muffled, but eventually he re-emerged, head poking out from under the cover.

"What was that?" Joe asked with a quirked eyebrow, trying not to look too amused by the state of Logan's hair.

"I said, maybe I just like looking good," Logan replied.

"For the dark fucking jungle?" Joe asked. "Don't think the trees care much, between you and me."

"They might, you dunno," Logan replied, slumping over a little and trying to fix his hair.

"Nah, they told me they don't give a shit," Joe assured him. "Don't worry about it, they dig the rumpled look."

"Yeah, good to know I can still seduce something while wearing a wedding ring," Logan snorted.

"Just a fucking tree," Joe pointed out, snorting in return. "But I'll be sure to let Neil know to watch out for the trees."

"Gonna rat on me Joe?" Logan laughed. "That's not cool."

"Hey, if I was fucking around on Dale with the trees, I'd expect you to tell him," Joe replied. "In fact, I fucking count on it."

"No way," Logan said, shaking his head. "Wouldn't rat you out, Joe. Im not that guy."

"Too fucking good to me, man," Joe said, shaking his head in return. "Way too fucking good to me, I'm fucking telling you."

"Fuck off," Logan snorted, rolling his eyes. "I am good to you, man. A damn saint, alright?"

"Close as I ever had to one," Joe replied and although he was smirking, he was mostly serious. Between Logan and Dale, he had something good.
