Logan's head had stopped pounding less then a day after the accident. He'd taken a hard hit, but he was alright, and other then a small cut and a bruise that was turning a pleasant shade of purple, Logan wasn't looking much worse the wear. He was sleeping a lot though, more then usual even, but he wasn't sure he could blame the bump for that. No, sometimes Logan just didn't like getting out of bed.

For the last hour or so though, he hadn't really been sleeping, just sort of drifting in and out. One minute he was awake and almost ready to get up, and the next he'd roll onto his side and find that perfectly warm spot on the bed... the one that made it all too easily to let his eyes drift shut again. Neil was out, probably walking Max, so there was no one nagging him, no one to tell him to stop being lazy and to go eat something. It was nice, and Logan planned on enjoying it just a little longer.

He'd found that spot again, and he was just about to settle back in for at least another ten minutes of lazing about... when someone said his name.

No, not just someone.

Logan would have recognized that voice anywhere, anytime. He new what it sounded like on film and on the phone, and he knew what it sounded like when the older man was there. Logan knew Aaron Echoll's voice better then anyone else's.

Eyes snapping open, Logan sat up almost instantly, his body tense as he listened. Maybe he'd imagined it... maybe it had been a dream,

But no, there it was again.

"Logan?"

Getting to his feet, Logan slowly walked to the door, peering around it with a worried look. His chest was tight and he was pretty sure he was sweating, but he made sure not to let anything show on his face as he headed outside and looked around. Making his way around to the back of the hut, he could feel his heart pounding in his chest. "Dad?" he said quietly, unsure and uneasy.

And there he was, Aaron Echolls, not a foot away. He had that look on his face, angry and pinched so tight the the lines in his face seemed deeper then usual. He took a step closer and Logan instantly took a step back, right onto someone's foot.

"Okay," Joe agreed, his stomach growling quietly as they walked toward the Compound. "It's fine, man." Definitely weird, but fine.

Logan nodded, but he didn't say anything. He simply stuck close by Joe's side and picked up his pace a little as he walked.

Joe didn't say anything either, not until they approached the Compound and then he did another sweep of the area with his eyes, wanting to make sure Aaron was nowhere nearby. "It's okay," he said after a moment.

Logan just nodded, heading inside with a frown. He headed straight for the kitchen and started poking around in search of something to eat. It was easy enough to let himself get distracted, and after a moment, he relaxed.

"What are you in the mood for, Joe?"

"What's in there?" he asked, settling down in one of the chairs and letting out a long, soft sigh. Anything sounded good at this point and he'd started to get his appetite back after so long of just eating when he absolutely had to.

"Uh... boar?" Logan offered. "Some fruit... cheese and stuff. Same as always."

"Fruit, I guess," Joe said, because he really didn't feel like having any more fucking boar. Fish or that bird stuff he could've gone for, but he'd be happy with fruit.

Logan nodded and dragged the fruit out of the fridge with a smile as he placed it on the counter.

Joe glanced around the kitchen, as if to make sure there was no one there that would be freaking Logan out again. Then he got up and went to his side, looking at the fruit.

Well this is nice," came Aaron's voice again. Logan didn't say anything this time, he just casually turned towards the source. Sure enough, there was Aaron, sitting at the table as if he'd been invited.

"You do this often, play house with your friend? And here I was thinking you'd actually grown up a little. Guess I was wrong. Does he tuck you in at night too?"

Logan just stared.

Joe popped a strawberry into his mouth and then grabbed a banana before he noticed that Logan had turned around and then he turned around as well, surveying the kitchen again. As with last time, there was nothing there. Nothing he could see anyway.

"Aren't you going to introduce us?"

A chill ran down Logan's spine, and he shook his head 'no'.

"Logan?" Joe asked, frowning a bit as he watched him and then looked out at the kitchen again. Whoever he was seeing was only visible to him and Joe wondered again if it was Aaron.

Logan turned at Joe's voice, a worried look on his face. "I, uh... I'm sorry, I didn't hear that. What were you saying?" he asked.

"I just called your name," he said, his eyes back on Logan, frowning very slightly. "Who're you hearing?"

"No one," Logan insisted, turning to look at Joe for a moment, before looking back over at the table.

It was empty.

Nodding slowly, Joe peeled the banana, wondering what the fuck was going on. It was pretty obvious there was something, because while Logan could be strange sometimes, this was especially weird.

Shaking it off, Logan offered Joe a forced smile. "So, uh... how's things?" he asked trying to change the topic.

"Not bad," Joe replied, taking a bite of the banana and looking around the kitchen again. "Got some shit for that radio broadcast, but that's about all the excitement I've had."

"Oh, yeah, the one with that chick jerking off that guy Jack on air? That was fucked up. I made Neil turn it off when the moaning started. I don't want to hear that shit. I'm all for sex talk on the radio, but I don't want to hear about some random guy sleeping with half the island while some chick jerks him off and tries to glorify him, like he's a local hero for sleeping around," Logan replied, pulling a face.

"Celebrity is inevitable in all cultures, I get that, but if being a whore is what's going to get you known, then this place is in pretty poor shape."

Joe snorted with laughter and then just gestured at Logan and said, "Can I point the press at you? Because you're saying it a hell of a lot more eloquently than I've managed so far. All I've managed is, 'yeah, pretty fucking ridiculous'."

Logan snorted. "Yeah, sure, I can use the press coverage to support my campaign to be a councilman," he joked, rolling his eyes.

"Trust me, you don't want to be a fucking councilman," Joe said dryly, rolling his eyes as well and leaning back against the counter as he finished his banana. "The longer I do it, the more it fucking sucks."

"Yeah, you said before," Logan replied, glancing back over at the table in case Aaron had returned.

He hadn't.

Moving over to the garbage to toss the peel away, Joe watched Logan, following his gaze to the table briefly before looking back at him again. Something weird was going on, that much was for sure.
