Logan's head had stopped pounding less then a day after the accident. He'd taken a hard hit, but he was alright, and other then a small cut and a bruise that was turning a pleasant shade of purple, Logan wasn't looking much worse the wear. He was sleeping a lot though, more then usual even, but he wasn't sure he could blame the bump for that. No, sometimes Logan just didn't like getting out of bed.

For the last hour or so though, he hadn't really been sleeping, just sort of drifting in and out. One minute he was awake and almost ready to get up, and the next he'd roll onto his side and find that perfectly warm spot on the bed... the one that made it all too easily to let his eyes drift shut again. Neil was out, probably walking Max, so there was no one nagging him, no one to tell him to stop being lazy and to go eat something. It was nice, and Logan planned on enjoying it just a little longer.

He'd found that spot again, and he was just about to settle back in for at least another ten minutes of lazing about... when someone said his name.

No, not just someone.

Logan would have recognized that voice anywhere, anytime. He new what it sounded like on film and on the phone, and he knew what it sounded like when the older man was there. Logan knew Aaron Echoll's voice better then anyone else's.

Eyes snapping open, Logan sat up almost instantly, his body tense as he listened. Maybe he'd imagined it... maybe it had been a dream,

But no, there it was again.

"Logan?"

Getting to his feet, Logan slowly walked to the door, peering around it with a worried look. His chest was tight and he was pretty sure he was sweating, but he made sure not to let anything show on his face as he headed outside and looked around. Making his way around to the back of the hut, he could feel his heart pounding in his chest. "Dad?" he said quietly, unsure and uneasy.

And there he was, Aaron Echolls, not a foot away. He had that look on his face, angry and pinched so tight the the lines in his face seemed deeper then usual. He took a step closer and Logan instantly took a step back, right onto someone's foot.

"I won't. I just... want you to be better or whatever," Logan replied.

"Hey, I will be," Joe said, reaching out and touching Logan's shoulder a bit.

"I know," Logan replied, leaning into the touch a little.

"You keeping away isn't gonna help that," he told him honestly, then squeezed his shoulder before he dropped his hand.

"I'm not going anywhere, alright, I promise," Logan replied shaking his head.

Nodding, Joe leaned against the counter again, trying not to make it obvious that he was looking around the kitchen again. "Yeah, okay."

Logan noticed Joe was looking around, but he didn't say anything this time. "You okay?" he asked curiously.

"Just looking," Joe said easily, smiling slightly over at Logan. Which sounded pretty fucking lame, but it was the truth.

Logan shook his head. "He's not... I saw him, but he's not here. He looked real though, like I could have touched him if I'd wanted to. He looked... he looked really pissed off."

"So he just shows up and then disappears?" Joe asked and although he was still worried, that was a bit of a relief. At least that meant Aaron wasn't really there on the island.

"Yeah... Like a ghost or something. Except... he's real, Joe. He looks real," Logan said quietly.

"That's really fucking bizarre," Joe said with a frown, looking around the kitchen again. "Can't punch a fucking ghost."

"Can't hide from one either," Logan said softly, face blank as he stared down at his feet,

"No, you can't," Joe agreed quietly, then reached out to put his hand on the back of Logan's neck, tugging him closer gently.

Logan tensed, still a little hyper aware of lines and where they were, but eventually relaxed and let Joe tug him closer. "I'm fine," he said quietly, in case Joe hadn't heard him the first twenty times.

"No, you're not," Joe said, although he could believe that maybe Logan was. Except that his fucking father was just showing up and then disappearing. That couldn't make him fine.

"I think I'm losing my mind Joe," Logan said frankly. "I just... I'm seeing things and hearing things and... that can't be okay."

"Yeah, but think about where we live," Joe pointed out, because it was always easier to blame the island. "This place is fucked. It does things."

"You're not seeing things," Logan pointed out. "Neil isn't seeing things..."

"Not yet," Joe agreed. "But I might go home to see Bucky or Ed sitting on my bed. I don't fucking know what's going on, man."

Logan nodded and pulled a bit of a face at that. "Whatever, I just hope it stops," he muttered softly.

It was honestly freaking him out, the sight of Aaron Echolls' face sending shivers down his spine and making his heart pound.

"Yeah," Joe agreed, nodding, because it was pretty fucking weird. And it obviously bothered Logan.

"You want to go someplace else?" Logan asked. "Like the waterfall or something? I don't really want to be in here."

"Yeah, sure," Joe agreed, grabbing another banana before he pushed off the counter and headed toward the door.

Logan was quick to follow, but he didn't say anything just then. He was content just to get out of there and away from whatever was going on.
