One Year Later AU

After six months in New York, Logan couldn't say he was that thrilled to be back in LA. Not that New York had been fantastic either, though the change of diet had been nice. People out there tasted better. Fresher. Less like fake tan and carrot juice and more like good wine and stake.

He'd only been back a day though, and the fact that he was already bored out of his mind was a bad sign. Sure, he'd upgraded to a better hotel with a bigger room and better staff who could better serve his needs (nothing better than a hotel run by a fellow Vampire to call home), and yeah, after his latest business venture he had more money than he'd need for the next three decades or so... But he was bored. Bored of LA. Bored of everything. Maybe it was time to try somewhere new.

Europe has always been very vamp friendly, or so he'd been told, and he wondered what Italy was like this time of year.

An older man came to stand beside him, leaning against the bar and looking him over. Human, late thirties, good health... and a stake in his coat pocket. Thrill killer. There was always one that snuck into the club, if it wasn't this guy, it would be someone else. When he reached out and stroked Logan's cheek, Logan smirked, tilting his head and playing the role of naive young blood. Five minutes later and they were in one of the back rooms... ten minutes later and Logan was back at the bar, blood on his shirt and the wooden stake sitting next to his beer like a trophy.

Hunters weren't like the rest of LA. They tasted just fine.

"I know, I'm saying you still could," I say, voice pitched low and my face hidden mostly in shadow. Then we turn a corner and the car's flooded with light, enough that my eyes start to burn.

Climbing out of the car, I walk around to stand next to him, squinting toward the small jet waiting on the runway. "Not bad."

Logan nodded for Neil to follow as the stairs were lined up and the door opened. It was a good thing the rain was clearing up too, Logan hated flying during storms.

The inside was plush, blood red and black seating with all the luxuries Logan could be bothered with,

"Oh my god, it looks like the fucking... Red Light District," I snort as I slip in through the doors, walking the distance of the cabin and letting my hands trail over the seats, woodgrain and plush, heavy fabrics. The plane, by far, is nicer than the house I grew up in. Probably nicer than the place I'm living now, which is more than just a step up from the place I live in with Wendy. More like a giant fucking leap.

"I like it, Logan said simply, grinning when a woman came over with two tall glasses of warm red liquid.

"You would," I laugh, sinking down into one of the chairs and taking the class from the woman, twisting around to look over the back of my seat and watching her walk away. "Must've been some business... I don't remember the fucking servants crawling outta the goddamn woodwork last I saw you."

"Turns out I have more talents than I knew. I've got great... people skills," Logan smirked, sipping the warm blood they'd been offered and relaxing in the plush seat. It was true though, Logan had always had a way with people. He was a sweet talker... manipulative. And people lapped it up. It made making deals and getting what he wanted that much easier.

Being able to kill people didn't hurt either.

"Oh, yeah. You're a real fucking charmer," I laugh, grinning at him over the rim of my glass.

"You're sitting here, aren't you?" Logan pointed out.

"Yeah, but it sure as fuck isn't 'cause of the power of your charm," I say, another laugh catching in the back of my throat before I down the rest of what's in my glass.

Rolling his eyes, Logan finished his drink and put the glass aside, fastening his belt as the pilot indicated they'd be taking off.

"Lighten up," I snort, buckling my seatbelt and leaning forward so I can look out the window as we take off. Been on a plane exactly one time in my life... Not that I'm gonna admit that to him.

Logan just ignored the other boy, stretching a little in his seat. He didn't need to lighten up, he hadn't even said anything.

"You like snow?" he asked.

"I guess. I mean, I've never skied before," I say, lifting one shoulder in a shrug. Snow sorta lost it's novelty for me when I stopped thinking about playing and started thinking more about fucking. Which admittedly happened a hell of a lot younger than for more people.

But there are some memories there and they're actually some of the nicer ones. Distant and faded. Almost like they happened to someone else.

"I always liked the first snow. The rest of the season, they never quite seemed the same, you know?"

"We won't be skiing," Logan assured the other boy, taking out his phone to check his mail.

"You're not taking me out there so you can relive the glory days of your youth?" I smirk, fishing out a cigarette and perching it between my lips.

"No," Logan snorted, yanking the cigarette from the other boy's lips and snapping it between his fingers. "No smoking," he said sweetly.

"You're kidding, right?" I say, giving him a look that's nothing but really fucking unamused. Heaving out a sigh, I slump down further in my seat, fiddling with my seatbelt strap and looking out the window.

"I don't want my plane smelling," Logan shrugged simply, discarding the cigarette and looking out the window.

"Yeah, like you wouldn't have the money to get it cleaned," I point out, unhooking my seatbelt as soon as I figure I can get away with it and wandering away down the cabin

"Where do you think you're going?" Logan asked, giving Neil a curious look as he got to his feet and turned to walk away.

"Well, obviously not far," I say, turning around to face him and folding my arms over my chest with a smirk.

"Alright, whatever," Logan snorted, waving Neill off to do whatever he wanted.

Huffing out a laugh, I wander over and start poking around the stocked bar, waving off the stewardess when she comes scurrying over and pouring myself a drink.

"You want something?"

"Vodka," Logan decided. "Lots of ice and a little tonic water."

Fixing his drink, I wander back over and hold his glass out to him with a smirk, my own glass dangling from my other hand loosely at my side.

"Anything else?"
