Vampire AU Prequel

Logan didn't do bars, not often any way. Too many people, too much going on... too many girls sniffing for money rather than love. Usually he hated it, but tonight...

Tonight he just needed to get out, to have a few drinks and enjoy the city of LA for what it was. Mindless, soulless, and empty. Really, the more he dwelled on it the more Logan was sure those were exactly the sort of qualities he'd been looking for in home, and he grinned as he polished off his drink and left enough cash on the bar for tip and his tab.

Ignoring the many writhing and twisting bodies on the dance floor, Logan made his way to the exit, ready to head home for the night. Passing the pool table, he pushed open the door and stepped into the night. The streets were busy, but he didn't mind, he'd cut through the alleyway and take a shortcut home.

The lamp light flickered as he stepped into the darkened ally, blinking out just as he headed into the shadows. It was alright though, he wasn't scared, he wasn't some sweet sixteen princess with her virtue to worry about... Logan was tough. He was eighteen now, and he had no fear.

"Some just don't feel that same connection or... it's easier for them to break," Joe answered, arching toward Logan's touch. "One of the people I turned doesn't give a fuck about where I am or being close to me."

"That must... really suck," Logan said slowly. "I like the connection. Feels good."

"Yeah, it's a plus," Joe agreed, his eyes closing briefly before he opened them again. "Some people can just fucking break it."

"Can you?" Logan asked, hands soaping Joe's shoulders up next.

"Yeah, I guess. Hurts sometimes, even when you don't have control over it, like when someone dies," Joe replied, relaxing under Logan's touches.

"Turn around," Logan said softly. "I want to do your back next."

Joe turned slowly in the shower until his back was to Logan, one of his hands raised to brace himself against the wall.

Taking his time, Logan washed Joe's back tenderly, fingers rubbing skin just firmly enough to make it feel good. "Keep talking, I want to know more."

"About the connection or anything?" Joe asked, groaning softly at the press of Logan's fingers. "I turned a friend of mine from back home. He doesn't give a fuck about the whole connection."

"Why did you turn him?" Logan asked moving his hands lower and lower, not stopping until he was kneading Joe's ass gently.

Joe made a noise in his throat, leaning back against Logan slightly before he said, "He was my best friend." And that wasn't entirely it, it didn't even begin to explain how fucking much he'd loved Billy.

"Doesn't sound like a good friend, leaving you all alone..." Logan murmured.

"Our relationship was fucked up," Joe explained with a snort of laughter, but he still felt relaxed and made another soft noise in his throat.

"I bet, seeing as how you killed him and all," Logan snorted, letting his fingers slide down the crack of Joe's ass.

"I wanted him with me," Joe answered simply, making a soft noise in the back of his throat at the feel of Logan's fingers. "That's not so fucking bad."

"It's manipulative," Logan murmured, pulling his hands away slowly. "Mean."

"Yeah, well, I'm a fucking vampire," Joe replied. "I'm not all love and puppy dogs."

"Clearly," Logan replied, moving a little so the water could spray down Joe's back, washing away the suds.

After a moment, Joe turned, reaching for the soap that Logan held. "Not that I was all love and puppy dogs before," he added with a faint smirk.

"Didn't think that you were," Logan said sweetly, flashing a smirk.

Joe grabbed the soap from him and began to lather it up, his hands sliding over Logan's shoulders. "The way I was born," he replied.

Tilting his head back, Logan sighed contently at the feeling of Joe's hands on his shoulders. "Born a prick, died a prick, huh? Guess it's good you didn't let it change you..."

"It's easier to get away with being a prick like this," Joe pointed out, shifting until Logan was in front of him, pushing him around until he had Logan's back to him. "Got an excuse now."

Logan let Joe turn him around, laughing a bit. "Yeah? Does that mean I get to be a prick now?"

"I got a feeling you were born a prick, too," Joe said with a snort of laughter, washing Logan's shoulders carefully, his fingers kneading the muscles.
