Things were nearing completion at the hut, which was amazing, really, considering how much they'd needed to do. They'd accomplished so much, and the hut looked so different now.

Standing in the nursery, Logan looked down at the floor, scuffing his foot against it, and frowning. Glancing over at Jack, he wet his lips before speaking.

"It should be soft. You're supposed to do that for babies, you know? You make everything soft. Do you think we could make a rug somehow? Or play mats, or... Fuck, I dunno," he sighed, trailing off. "What about, like, leather? My dad had that once on his walls. It was soft. They make it for flooring too. What if we did that?" he asked, not really sure how one would go about making a leather floor.

Jack looked at the floor thoughtfully for a minute and then nodded.

"I don't know about leather, but my mom had these rugs she made of strips of fabric. She used to work on them all the time. I think...I think I can remember how she did it. You and I could make a rug for the floor. A big one."

He reached over and laid his hand on Logan's back and rubbed lightly.

"It's getting close," he said. "Just a few more weeks and we'll have a baby."

"Few more weeks and we wont have free time. We'll be so busy. We'll be changing diapers and all that stuff. I'm excited, but I'll miss this," he admitted. "I'll miss being able to just do whatever with you, man."

"We'll make time. I don't want being a family to take over...I've been working so hard on just being a good husband," he replied. His hand slid around Logan and pulled him closer so he could kiss him lightly.

"I've been thinking about something. Something we should talk about."

"good something or bad something?" Logan asked, returning the kiss and holding on lightly in return.

"Good something? I was thinking that the baby is going to be a full time job and between him- or her- and you...I was thinking I'd tell Helen that I'll work until the new year and then take an extended leave. Maybe not go back, or maybe later. Some day. But this is more important. What do you think?" he asked hesitantly.

"...Really?" Logan asked, looking genuinely surprised.

He hated the club, but he'd never expected Jack would quit. It was something they just didn't talk about anymore, and now he wasn't sure if he should be happy to hear the other man would be leaving it fora while.

"you don't have to, you know that, right? You're not doing this for me or something, are you?"

"I know I don't have to. I want to. I want to be a family. I don't have to work. It's not like we need money to live. I do it to keep busy and to be social but...but it's time to change. I want to be the best husband and dad I can be," he said. He'd clearly thought about it, had thought about it for a while. But like most of the things he finally brought up it was clear he'd planned all this out in his head before bringing it to Logan and well before he took it to Helen.

Logan nodded, still surprised, but clearly not upset by the choice.

"I think- I think that would be really good. I don't want to do any of this without you, and if you can be home more, that would be... It would be really good."

"I'm still going to fish, though. I like the sea," he said, his hand slowly making its way down Logan's back and resting just above his ass. "But that's just a few hours on Friday that I'll be gone. That'll be okay. And you should take a day, too. All the books I've read say parents should make a little time for themselves."

"Yeah? Maybe I'll take up a hobby or something. Or maybe just go somewhere and play my guitar. I dunno, I'll think about it."

He pressed closer and leaned against the other man, smiling as he inhaled deeply.

"And we can find a babysitter now and then," he suggested with a sly smirk.

"God I hope so," he exhaled, pivoting to face Logan so he could lean in to kiss him. That smirk, the man's whole attitude, it went straight to his groin. Jack leaned in and kissed Logan deeply, but only for a second.

"I shouldn't kiss you like this in the baby's room," he said, attacked by a rare stab of propriety.

"I hate to break it to you captain, but considering what we used to do in here, a kiss really isn't gonna dirty the place up," Logan countered.

"But fine, take me to bed," he purred, nipping at Jack's jaw.

Jack chuckled at that and wound both arms around Logan.

"That's a tale we're not telling our kid," he said as he began to lead Logan out of the room and toward their bed. "I think there's a lot we won't tell...or save for when the baby is much, much much older. Like...fifty."

"I think by the time the baby is fifty, we'll be too old to want to tell them about our sex life," Logan replied, laughing a little as he he let Jack lead him along.

"Besides, secrets are hot. It'll be our secret."

"I miss all the secrets we used to have," Jack purred, his fingers tugging at Logan's shirt so he could get to bare skin.

"I love what we have now, but it was hot when we had to keep this from everyone. When we were sneaking around. When we had to make the most of every minute," he continued, leaning in to kiss him again. "We'll have to do that again, won't we? Be quiet. Be fast..."

"Or slow and silent," Logan replied with a smirk, leaning in to kiss Jack's lips and moaning softly against them.

"But yeah, we'll have to be quiet. At least when we don't have a sitter..."

"We should practice," he whispered softly between kisses. He peeled off Logan's shirt and then wriggled out of his own before he had his hands all over his husband's skin.

"How quiet can you be without a gag?" he asked. "I think it'll be hard for me. I'm used to...not being quiet."

"Let's find out," Logan purred, nuzzling Jack's neck. "And for the record, you're never loud until the end. You grunt, and you growl when you talk... It's quiet, and it's fucking hot."

"Your loud," he grinned. "Calling me names and bossing me around. I love how you talk..."

His hands moved to undo Logan's fly but he forced himself to go slowly and to be as quiet as he could be. His voice stayed low, whispers or just barely above a whisper. It felt secret being quiet like this. He heard every breath Logan took and he focused on him completely. It was almost a challenge, he thought, to keep things as silent as possible.

He knew they should practice, but god- he so didn't want to. He wanted to be loud and rowdy. he wanted to be rough and intense.

They should be enjoying this.

"Damn right I'm loud. Now quit being a pussy and get my clothes off."

"Don't tell me what to do," Jack said, his voice that low growl Logan had just mentioned. He kissed the younger man hard, claiming his lips. His hands shoved Logan's pants down to his knees, binding his legs together there.

"...And you call me impatient," he said with a smirk.

"Just shut up and fuck me, Captain," Logan smirked, yanking Jack's shirt up and over his head.

"Or I'll get bored and go surfing instead," he threatened with a wicked grin.

"Mmm, I love watching you surf," he replied, only letting go of Logan so he could get out of his own pants. He stomped his feet to get them off and then he took hold of his husband to shove him to the bed and fall down over him, all hands and mouth exploring the younger man's body.

"Yeah? You like to watch?" Logan teased softly, arching his back and purring. "God, I love your mouth, Captain. You have the bast lips."

Jack sucked a line of kisses down Logan's neck and dragged his lips across his chest.

"Glad you think so," he whispered, his breath feathering hot over Logan's skin. "I could kiss you for hours. I could drive you crazy."
