Camping (locked to Joe, backdated to Sept 29th)

Seeing as how he and Neil had been fighting about damn near everything all week, Logan had been more than a little eager to go camping with Joe by the time Saturday morning rolled around. So eager, in fact, that he'd already been to the compound to find a sleeping bag in the clothes box (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle themed no less), and had packed his make-shift bag before Joe had even come to find him.

For once Logan was ahead of the game, knocking on Joe's door to see if he was ready.

God, he'd never thought he'd be so eager to stare at trees for nearly forty-something hours.

"Hey, you ready?" he asked, knocking once and then pushing the door open a crack. "I grabbed some food for us to take or whatever... so, uh, I'm ready to go when you are man."

"And if I wanted to get high, I would," Joe decided. "Wouldn't sit around and inhale your second hand smoke."

"Fuck you, in Neptune my second hand smoke is a delicacy," Logan grinned.

"Not in fucking Neptune anymore," Joe pointed out, grinning in return. "Gotta take the bad with the good."

Logan just laughed a little and nodded. "Guess so."

Rolling onto his back, he looked up at the stars as he spoke. I can't remember a time before coming here when people didn't know who I was. I remember people snapping photos of me as a kid. Seeing myself on the covers of trashy tabloids with headlines I didn't understand. When I was nine, some woman even tried to get me to go home with her."

He was quiet for a moment and then looked at Joe again. "I don't miss it. Being known. Being watched. Do you?"

Joe thought about it, giving a small shrug after a moment and he said, "I guess I miss parts of it. I miss performing, I miss people knowing the words of my songs and shouting them back at me. I miss the free drinks and the free coke and the women who'd just fucking throw themselves at us."

"Yeah? I bet that was cool," Logan said softly.

"And here there's barely even a fucking stage," Joe said, snorting quietly. He'd love to perform again, but it wasn't the same and it would never be the same.

"It's still a stage though," Logan said.

"I was enjoying learning to play from you," he admitted after a moment, looking at Joe again.

"We can still do that if you want," Joe replied. He'd more or less given up doing most things since Bucky had started to get on his nerves, but he'd like doing it. "I'm sure as hell not the best teacher."

"You are," Logan argued. "Wouldn't want to learn from anyone else, you know?"

"No one else here who's even half as good as me anyway," Joe replied smugly. It was arrogant, but he thought it was true anyway.

"Yeah?" Logan laughed. "There should be, like, a battle of the bands or something."

Joe snorted with laughter, trying to picture that. "You wanna see me kick everyone's ass?"

"Yeah," Logan grinned. "Could be fun."

"Kicking everyone's ass is always fun," Joe agreed with a smirk. "There's definitely nothing wrong with it."

"You should do it. You should organize one, man," Logan said lazily.

"Sounds like an awful lot of work for no fucking pay off," Joe decided. "I already know I can kick everyone's ass."

"Maybe the pay off is having people like me and Dale get to watch you kick ass," Logan replied.

"Yeah, you think he'd be impressed by that?" Joe asked with a grin, turning his head over to look at Logan. "You think it'd make him hot?"

"Well I know it makes me hot..." Logan teased, biting back a laugh and flashing Joe a mock-flirtatious look.

"Fuck off," Joe said with a snort of laughter, reaching over to swat at Logan absently. "Your husband makes you hot."

"As does chili powder and Elizabeth Berkley, pre-Showgirls," Logan smirked.

"And Eostre, apparently," Joe added with a wide grin, smacking Logan's chest again. "You fucking pervert."

"Yeah? Where'd you learn that?" Joe asked, still smirking faintly, looking more amused than anything by the whole thing.
