They'd talked about it, kind of, and while Logan couldn't help but think it was sort of sweet that Jack wanted Joe's permission... Well, he was also fairly sure that letting the other man go alone wouldn't end well. It didn't matter that Jack would try and behave, or that Joe was doing all he could to accept the fact that Logan was with Jack, the two men just seemed unable to click.
Nothing Jack did seemed to win Joe over completely, and even though Logan went out of his way to try and get Joe to warm to the other man- it just didn't seem to be working.
"I'm coming," he'd said simply, not giving Jack a chance to argue as he finished getting ready. "He's gonna want to talk to me about it anyway, so I may as well be there." Which was true, but they both knew that wasn't why Logan was coming. Of course, neither of them said as much out loud as they made their way to the Hamlet, their shoulders brushing as they walked.
Standing outside Joe's door, Logan was struck with a sudden feeling of dread, but before he could suggest leaving and coming back later Jack was knocking on the door.

"What?" he asked as he opened the door, a little surprised to find Jack and Logan there. "Sorry," he added a second later, still sounding half-asleep and a little grumpy. "What's up?"
no subject
"Hi, Joe," he said, smiling the best he could without being completely fake. "Can I ta- can we talk to you? It won't take long."

"It's more like a question," he said, trying to prepare the other man for what was about to come. "Or, uh, two questions, actually. ...You might want to sit down though."

"Just tell him," he said quietly.

"Well, I just wanted to let you know that me and Jack are getting married," he said, doing his best to make it sound like a competently casual announcement. Strangely enough, despite how worried he was, he still found himself smiling a little, unable to hide the fact that the idea of marrying Jack made him happy.

Mouth pressed into a thin line, fingers curling slightly into his dog's fur, Joe just stared at Logan questioningly.

"The first question," he said, grateful Joe wasn't looking at him, "is...well...I thought I should ask you if..."
He'd tried a dozen different ways of asking, but none of them felt quite right. Ultimately, he figured, there was no reason to dance around this.
"Joe, I'd like your blessing, or whatever it's called, since your his dad. I know you don't like me, but I love Logan. Would you, please, be okay with this?"

"...The other question is- Well, uh, I actually can't ask it until you answer his."
Blindly, his fingers found Jack's, his fingers lacing with the other man's as he moved just the slightest bit closer to him.

And he could see that he was happy.
"If you make me regret being okay with it, I will make sure no one ever finds you," he said simply, looking at Jack finally. "But you make him happy and that's the only fucking thing I've ever wanted for him."
no subject
"You're not going to regret it,"he said with the gravity the statement deserved. "You can bank on it."

Knocking the other man backwards slightly, Logan practically tackled him before making a victorious gesture with his arms as he bounced slightly on his knees on the bed. Ozzy was not amused, but Logan didn't notice as he dropped his arms and wrapped them around Joe's shoulders. "Thank you," he grinned, right before giving him a sloppy kiss on the cheek.

"So what's the other question?" he asked, arm around Logan, an eyebrow arching at the same time. He hoped no one wanted him to officiate again. That was Dale's thing now, Joe had decided.
no subject
"That's all his," Jack said as he took a step back.
no subject
"Well, uh, I was kind of hoping you'd be my best man. Not that you have a choice, but it seemed polite to ask," he grinned.

He shrugged and looked at Logan, wearing the softest, most smitten grin.
"There's no rush. I'm not going anywhere." He took a deep breath and gestured vaguely toward the door and to what lay beyond it. "Actually, Ianto suggested we at least wait until New Year's so we don't destroy the liquor supply of the island with a party. We can just take advantage of what this place seems to magic up. Six months is a decent minimum, don'tcha think?"

"The party in the compound. On New Year's Eve," he replied. "All the foods you miss, booze you can drink, and, um...everything. I'm not above taking advantage of mystery generosity and calling it all ours." Jack grinned at Logan with a devilish glint in his eyes. "Pizza sounds good. I'll tell the wedding fairy."

He wasn't about the take his blessing back, not really, but he didn't want to hear that sort of thing either.
