The slap reminded him so much of Billy that Joe felt his chest clench tight and for a moment he couldn't quite speak. It was something Billy would have done once, something he had done before several shows and in response to Joe telling him that he loved him.
"If I tell you that you were, is it gonna go to your head?" Joe asked a moment later, smirking faintly.
