NYE post midnight
He practically dragged Jack away from the party, holding his hand tightly and grinning as he lead the way outside and into the snow.
"I'm sorry I'm so bad at parties," he said as they walked. "I've been trying though. I was really trying hard tonight."

"I got it, baby, I've got you. I always do," he said, biting his lip before he started thrusting harder and faster, letting his hand occasionally cover Jack's nose as well, only to move and let him breathe again a moment later. Over and over in a way that couldn't be accidental.

"Please," he gasped once, losing precious air to do so. That was all...just one word before he practically melted beneath Logan.

Though he never got his wish, his hand plastered over Jack's nose and mouth as he spilled deep inside his husband, letting out a throaty groan as he came and his hand slipped away from Jack's face, leaving the other man to breathe freely again.

"That was so good," he said, praising Logan with his word as well as his touch. "For that...for that, you can sleep in bed with me. With me, not at the foot. Not like a pet."

Wrapping his arm tightly around Jack's middle, he yawned quietly.
"Mmm, 'mnot a pet."

"Go to sleep," he said softly. "No more tonight."

His dreams were vivid that night. Vivid and good. Warm and comforting. They were filled with Jack.
He stirred a little now and then, wiggling around and then settling back in, never waking but never completely still.

It was dangerous to sleep so deeply and he never really had before Logan. It was comforting and upsetting at the same time, when he bothered to think about it. Logan had told him he didn't want to change, but Jack had changed in a hundred ways that he couldn't begin to name. Sleeping so well in his husband's arms was just one of the many.

Agitated, he pulled the covers over his head.

But then the comforting weight of Logan fixed him and gave him his bearings and he closed his eyes again. It was a lzy gesture he rarely indulged in. And it was kind of nice to just lay there and hold Logan.

Jack looked so calm and still, completely relaxed and at ease. There had been a time where Jack hardly slept at all when they were together, but now... Now Logan knew he was trusted.
Now Logan knew it was his job to make sure nothing happened to the Captain while he slept.
"Are you awake?" he asked quietly. "Jack... You awake?"

"You were in them. You almost always are."
Even his nightmares occasionally featured Jack.

"Fair enough," he said finally. "If I ever have a new one that's good, I'll tell you."

He rolled onto his side and brushed a hand over Jack's stomach.

"Will you tell me about the day you died?" he asked softly. "I know you told me some of it before, but I want to know. I want to know what happened."
And it was unfair, he knew it was unfair to ask for Jack to dig up such a painful memory, but he wanted to hear it. Even if he knew it would only upset them both.

"I knew I was going to die, no matter what. The Doctor was making a Delta wave and if it had worked, I'd have been barbecued, along with all the Daleks, everyone on the satellite, and pretty much everyone on the Earth.
But we had to fight. I did, anyway. There was no way I was going down without a fight. I told Rose and the Doctor goodbye and then I got to work.
We set up points to defend, but the Daleks kept coming and we kept falling back. The few people we had kept getting picked off, one by one, until there was just me. I kept fighting, though. I kept fighting until I ran out of ammo and I had my back to a wall. But I knew I was going to die...so it was okay. Fighting for something good? It was a good reason to go. It was the first time in my life I'd ever had something worth fighting for that was completely...selfless."
Jack paused and looked down, staring at a point on Logan's chest.
"But I was scared. I was really scared."

He closed his eyes as his lips touched skin, emotions rushing through him. Jack had died. He'd died, and while Logan was aware of the fact that it hadn't stuck, that his husband would come back again and again in his future off the island, it still hurt. It hurt to think of a world without Jack.
"Love you, and... You are so brave. I couldn't have done that. I couldn't have fought like that. You- You are amazing. ...I'm sorry though, that you died, that you were scared, that you had to do that."
