Vampire AU Prequel

Logan didn't do bars, not often any way. Too many people, too much going on... too many girls sniffing for money rather than love. Usually he hated it, but tonight...

Tonight he just needed to get out, to have a few drinks and enjoy the city of LA for what it was. Mindless, soulless, and empty. Really, the more he dwelled on it the more Logan was sure those were exactly the sort of qualities he'd been looking for in home, and he grinned as he polished off his drink and left enough cash on the bar for tip and his tab.

Ignoring the many writhing and twisting bodies on the dance floor, Logan made his way to the exit, ready to head home for the night. Passing the pool table, he pushed open the door and stepped into the night. The streets were busy, but he didn't mind, he'd cut through the alleyway and take a shortcut home.

The lamp light flickered as he stepped into the darkened ally, blinking out just as he headed into the shadows. It was alright though, he wasn't scared, he wasn't some sweet sixteen princess with her virtue to worry about... Logan was tough. He was eighteen now, and he had no fear.

"I'll show you," Joe answered with a shrug. He didn't know why he offered, he should've made him go on his fucking own, but he wasn't quite ready to let go of this kid yet.

Nodding a little, Logan flopped onto his back. He felt restless, itchy, like there ws something he needed and just didn't have.

"You wanna shower or anything?" Joe asked as he lay back on the bed as well, his eyes closed. "Lots of stuff in the house."

"Yeah, alright," Logan said, sitting up and shuffling off the the bed.

"I might need some clothes after. Mine have blood on them."

His bloodd, but he didn't let himself dwell on that.

"There are clothes in the closet," Joe said, gesturing at it with his hand. "Some of 'em should fit you. When you're done it'll be dark out."

Logan nodded a little, heading over to the closet and grabbing something to wear. After that, it was straight to the bathroom and into the shower.

He emerged a while later, hair clean and slicked back and the borrowed clothes hanging just a little loose on his frame.

Joe had changed into clean clothes by the time Logan was out of the shower and he was sitting on the edge of the bed with a book in his hands. "It's dark out," he said.

"Come on then, I think you owe me dinner after all that," Logan smirked, plucking the book from Joe's hands and tossing it aside.

"Too bad we can't eat in... we could do it again."

"Could do it again later anyway," Joe replied with a shrug, then got to his feet and grabbed his boots off the floor from where he'd dropped them earlier.

"So... do we just pluck people off the street?" Logan asked. "Or, uh... are there places to go? I mean, there must be more of us..."

"There are places, but they're usually really fucking busy," Joe said, pulling a jacket on and heading toward the door. "C'mon."

Nodding, Logan followed, his hands deep in his pockets as he walked beside the older man.

Joe locked the door behind them once they were out, then headed back in the direction of downtown as he shoved his keys into his pocket. "You want somewhere busy?"

"Don't care... I just want to eat. I want something fresh," Logan said.

"Okay," Joe agreed, walking faster as they neared a busier area of the city. "Find someone you want. Pick someone."

"What, just, at random?" Logan asked, looking unsure.

"Whoever you want," Joe replied with a shrug. "Just whoever who stands out, man. Whoever catches your eye."

There was a couple up ahead, holding hands and walking close. They were sweet. Innocent looking.

Logan sort of hated that.

"Them," he said, nodding towarss them.

"Okay," Joe answered, then nodded at them and quickened his pace, hurrying so that he could catch up with them. They had to be pretty fast, grab them and get them out of the public eye.

Logan waited until the were near an ally, then reached out to grab the girl, shoving her hard and quickly cupping a hand over her mouth once they were out of sight.

As Logan grabbed the girl, Joe's hands clamped down on the guy's shoulders, yanking him hard into the alley as well. He pushed the guy up against the wall, clamping a hand over his mouth to stop him from screaming.

Body tense, Logan could hear her heart pounding... her blood pulsing through her body.

It was amazing, and Logan wasted no time.

Jearking her head to the side, Logan let his teeth sink into her neck, drinking hard and fast. ...Like he hadn't eaten in years.

Joe's fingers fisted in the guy's hair, yanking his head to the side as well. He ducked his head and sunk his teeth into the guy's neck before he even really had a chance to register what was going on.

Logan didn't stop until the girl was dry, letting her body crumple to the ground once he was done. His eyes were locked on Joe the whole time though, watching him as he drank. There was a strange rush of jealousy, and he narrowed his eyes slightly as he waited for him to finish.

When Joe was finished, he dropped the guy, then brought a hand to his mouth and wiped away the blood on his lip. "Come on," he said simply and stepped away from their bodies, leading Logan into the dark.
