Vampire AU Prequel

Logan didn't do bars, not often any way. Too many people, too much going on... too many girls sniffing for money rather than love. Usually he hated it, but tonight...

Tonight he just needed to get out, to have a few drinks and enjoy the city of LA for what it was. Mindless, soulless, and empty. Really, the more he dwelled on it the more Logan was sure those were exactly the sort of qualities he'd been looking for in home, and he grinned as he polished off his drink and left enough cash on the bar for tip and his tab.

Ignoring the many writhing and twisting bodies on the dance floor, Logan made his way to the exit, ready to head home for the night. Passing the pool table, he pushed open the door and stepped into the night. The streets were busy, but he didn't mind, he'd cut through the alleyway and take a shortcut home.

The lamp light flickered as he stepped into the darkened ally, blinking out just as he headed into the shadows. It was alright though, he wasn't scared, he wasn't some sweet sixteen princess with her virtue to worry about... Logan was tough. He was eighteen now, and he had no fear.

"Then you can watch," Joe replied with a smirk. "Or we can share." Which he sure as hell didn't mind. He'd always kind of liked it, to be honest.

"Okay," Logan nodded. "You pick this time."

"Okay," Joe agreed, smirking over at Logan as he led him out of the alley, then turned left down the street. "C'mon, there's always some good ones in the park."

Logan nodded and followed Joe without question. It was strange how easily he was led by Joe.

"You feel better, eh?" Joe asked. "After eating and fucking?" He always seemed to feel better, especially after eating, but the sex sure as hell didn't hurt.

Logan nodded. "Yeah. I feel... stronger," he said, glancing over at Joe. "Stronger than before."

"It gets better," Joe replied with a small smile. "Every time, it gets better until you're as strong as you can get."

"Yeah?" Logan asked, looking interested. "Like you?"

"Not for awhile yet, but yeah, like me," Joe agreed. He had at least a couple decades on Logan, but it didn't take long to get strong.

"How long have you been like this?" Logan asked curiously. "When were you turned?"

"I got turned about... twenty-five years ago," Joe said after thinking about it for awhile. "Not as old as I could be, man, but old enough."

"Who was it?" Logan asked. "I mean, who turned you?"

"Just a guy," Joe replied, shrugging a bit as he crossed the street. "This guy I met when I was sixteen, he did it." Joe had trusted him, loved him, and he'd turned him.

"Why aren't you with him now?" Logan asked. "I mean, if you felt like I feel, you can't have wanted to leave him."

Joe cast Logan a curious glance at that, but he just shrugged again. "He died." He'd been dying to begin with, in the end, but Joe hadn't known that. "He got turned to escape his moral fucking death and then got staked."

"Who did it?" Logan asked, not caring that he was being nosy.

"Some bitch who wasn't fucking fooled by us," Joe answered. "I killed her, so it doesn't matter anymore." He'd done more than killed her, he'd tortured her to death, but he didn't need to be talking about that yet.

"You guys were gonna eat her or something?" Logan asked.

"At first, yeah. But she knew about what we were and got him. I got her a couple days later," Joe answered, then found a young woman in the park walking alone and nodded for Logan to follow him.

Logan wanted to ask more, but he shut up quickly, falling into step behind Joe.

Without a word, Joe grabbed the girl from behind so quickly that she hadn't even had time to realize someone was approaching. The area to the right was heavily wooded and he dragged her between trees, waiting for Logan to follow.

Logan followed briskly, pausing only for a moment to make sure no one had seen them.

The girl was struggling, but Joe was way too strong for her and he smirked a little at Logan over her shoulder. "Want some?" he asked, then leaned his head in and bit down on one side of her neck, blood trickling out of the corner of his mouth.

Logan just watched for a moment, licking his lips and then nodding quickly.

Stepping up on the other side of her, Logan didn't hesitate to sink his teeth into the other side of her neck.

When Logan leaned in, Joe reached up and cupped the back of his head, holding him to the girl. Her struggles weakened almost immediately and a soft noise escaped, but Joe didn't stop drinking.
