Logan's head had stopped pounding less then a day after the accident. He'd taken a hard hit, but he was alright, and other then a small cut and a bruise that was turning a pleasant shade of purple, Logan wasn't looking much worse the wear. He was sleeping a lot though, more then usual even, but he wasn't sure he could blame the bump for that. No, sometimes Logan just didn't like getting out of bed.

For the last hour or so though, he hadn't really been sleeping, just sort of drifting in and out. One minute he was awake and almost ready to get up, and the next he'd roll onto his side and find that perfectly warm spot on the bed... the one that made it all too easily to let his eyes drift shut again. Neil was out, probably walking Max, so there was no one nagging him, no one to tell him to stop being lazy and to go eat something. It was nice, and Logan planned on enjoying it just a little longer.

He'd found that spot again, and he was just about to settle back in for at least another ten minutes of lazing about... when someone said his name.

No, not just someone.

Logan would have recognized that voice anywhere, anytime. He new what it sounded like on film and on the phone, and he knew what it sounded like when the older man was there. Logan knew Aaron Echoll's voice better then anyone else's.

Eyes snapping open, Logan sat up almost instantly, his body tense as he listened. Maybe he'd imagined it... maybe it had been a dream,

But no, there it was again.

"Logan?"

Getting to his feet, Logan slowly walked to the door, peering around it with a worried look. His chest was tight and he was pretty sure he was sweating, but he made sure not to let anything show on his face as he headed outside and looked around. Making his way around to the back of the hut, he could feel his heart pounding in his chest. "Dad?" he said quietly, unsure and uneasy.

And there he was, Aaron Echolls, not a foot away. He had that look on his face, angry and pinched so tight the the lines in his face seemed deeper then usual. He took a step closer and Logan instantly took a step back, right onto someone's foot.

Joe shrugged at that, because there wasn't much to discuss in regards to Dale. Or there was too much and he didn't know where to start. "Fine," he said. "I found my gun again not too long ago and he went with me to get rid of it."

Logan tensed at that but didn't say anything. He just nodded and looked away.

"Neil tell you about it?" Joe asked, figuring he probably did. "I lost it during the hurricane and then when I was walking last week I found it in the jungle."

"No, he didn't," Logan said quietly. "I... It's gone though, right?"

"Yeah, it's gone. I threw it into the ocean, so hopefully it won't come back either," Joe told him, hoping that it put Logan at ease somehow.

"Good," Logan said simply, relaxing a little as he continued to walk alongside Joe.

"Besides, it's not like I even had any bullets for it," he continued. Although he'd sure as hell made Cutter think otherwise.

"I do," Logan said quietly. "I still have the bullets from my gun. Never gave them to Ray, so they're still in the hut in a box."

"But the gun's gone, right?" Joe asked, looking over at Logan. Not that he was one to talk, but at least he'd gotten rid of his gun.

"Unless Ray gives it back, yeah," Logan shrugged. "I haven't asked him for it yet."

Joe frowned at that, looking down at his feet as they walked and then finished his banana, tossing the peel aside.

"What?" Logan asked, noticing the look on Joe's face.

"You know how you felt there when I told you about the gun?" Joe asked. "That's how I feel now. So you know what."

Logan scowled a little and looked down at his feet as he walked on. "It's not like I'd shoot myself. I'm over that."

"Would you accept that answer from me?" Joe asked, looking over at Logan with his eyebrows raised. He knew damn well that he wouldn't.

"No," Logan said honestly, still frowning. "I'm just saying, I'm not going to do that. Alright, Joe?"

"Me neither," Joe said. "So we've both got that going for us now. I just fucking worry, okay? You know that."

"Yeah, I know... Look, he probably won't give it back to me anyway, right? So just don't worry about it," Logan decided.

"Okay, Logan, I'll do exactly what you say," Joe replied with a soft snort. Like he could just decide to stop worrying. It didn't work that way.

"Better," Logan grinned softly, bumping Joe's shoulder with his own. "Come on old man, I'll race you the rest of the way. Let's see if your healthy ways have done anything for you."

"Fuck you," Joe said with a soft laugh, groaning as he thought about running. Running would kill him. "Dale made me fucking swim and now you're gonna make me run?"

"You wouldn't let me," Logan quipped. "Come on," he smirked, dashing off ahead before Joe could argue.

"Fuck," Joe said again, staring after Logan with a sour expression before he began to jog after him. There was no way in hell he was going to be able to catch up, but at least he could look like he was making the effort.

Logan slowed just a little when he could hear Joe follow, but he didn't slow quite enough to let the other man catch up. He also didn't stop until he reached the waterfall, arms raised in victory.

"How was that?" he called out to Joe as he caught up, all grins as he watched the older man approach.

"Fuck you, I'm old," Joe said as he approached, slowing to a fast walk and then stopped as he neared Logan, giving him a dirty look. "You two are gonna fucking kill me."
