Vampire AU Prequel

Logan didn't do bars, not often any way. Too many people, too much going on... too many girls sniffing for money rather than love. Usually he hated it, but tonight...

Tonight he just needed to get out, to have a few drinks and enjoy the city of LA for what it was. Mindless, soulless, and empty. Really, the more he dwelled on it the more Logan was sure those were exactly the sort of qualities he'd been looking for in home, and he grinned as he polished off his drink and left enough cash on the bar for tip and his tab.

Ignoring the many writhing and twisting bodies on the dance floor, Logan made his way to the exit, ready to head home for the night. Passing the pool table, he pushed open the door and stepped into the night. The streets were busy, but he didn't mind, he'd cut through the alleyway and take a shortcut home.

The lamp light flickered as he stepped into the darkened ally, blinking out just as he headed into the shadows. It was alright though, he wasn't scared, he wasn't some sweet sixteen princess with her virtue to worry about... Logan was tough. He was eighteen now, and he had no fear.

The feeling of Joe spilling deep inside him was a little overwhelming, and he moaned a bit as he draped an arm over the older man's shoulder.

For all he'd been stubborn and aggressive, he couldn't help but feel like he belonged to Joe somehow. Like he was just... his. He wasn't sure he could say that though, he wasn't good at swallowing his pride. Instead he took Joe's hand again, moving it to his neck and tilting his head back submissively and looking Joe dead in the eye.

His body felt spent and worn, but he was recovering fast. Faster than usual.

Joe let out a long, shuddering breath, one he didn't even really need, then pulled out of Logan slowly. He wasn't careful, not by any means, but he didn't force it.

Flopping onto his back, he stared up at the ceiling as his body began to recover.

When Joe moved away, Logan felt cold. he didn't move closer though. He wasn't going to act like some neglected pet. He wouldn't beg for attention.

"Christ," Joe groaned quietly, stretching out on the bed, relaxing on the mattress. That had been good.

Inching closer, Logan moved so he was nearly up against Joe's side.

"You still never told me why you picked me."

"Because you smelled good," Joe responded with a smirk. "Because you stood out and you smelled good."

"What do I smell like?" Logan asked, inching closer still until he was flush against Joe's side.

"Like... something I wanted," Joe replied, unable to really answer. He'd smelled like something alive and something that he'd never get to be again.

Logan figured he could deal with that, and he settled in where he lay, watching the light dim behind the curtains. "Still hungry," he complained.

"Not much longer and you can go out," Joe said after he'd glanced at the clock. He'd show Logan how to feed if necessary.

"And then what?" Logan asked. "What am I supposed to do then?"

"I'll show you," Joe answered with a shrug. He didn't know why he offered, he should've made him go on his fucking own, but he wasn't quite ready to let go of this kid yet.

Nodding a little, Logan flopped onto his back. He felt restless, itchy, like there ws something he needed and just didn't have.

"You wanna shower or anything?" Joe asked as he lay back on the bed as well, his eyes closed. "Lots of stuff in the house."

"Yeah, alright," Logan said, sitting up and shuffling off the the bed.

"I might need some clothes after. Mine have blood on them."

His bloodd, but he didn't let himself dwell on that.

"There are clothes in the closet," Joe said, gesturing at it with his hand. "Some of 'em should fit you. When you're done it'll be dark out."

Logan nodded a little, heading over to the closet and grabbing something to wear. After that, it was straight to the bathroom and into the shower.

He emerged a while later, hair clean and slicked back and the borrowed clothes hanging just a little loose on his frame.

Joe had changed into clean clothes by the time Logan was out of the shower and he was sitting on the edge of the bed with a book in his hands. "It's dark out," he said.

"Come on then, I think you owe me dinner after all that," Logan smirked, plucking the book from Joe's hands and tossing it aside.

"Too bad we can't eat in... we could do it again."

"Could do it again later anyway," Joe replied with a shrug, then got to his feet and grabbed his boots off the floor from where he'd dropped them earlier.

"So... do we just pluck people off the street?" Logan asked. "Or, uh... are there places to go? I mean, there must be more of us..."

"There are places, but they're usually really fucking busy," Joe said, pulling a jacket on and heading toward the door. "C'mon."

Nodding, Logan followed, his hands deep in his pockets as he walked beside the older man.

Joe locked the door behind them once they were out, then headed back in the direction of downtown as he shoved his keys into his pocket. "You want somewhere busy?"

"Don't care... I just want to eat. I want something fresh," Logan said.
