Vampire AU Prequel

Logan didn't do bars, not often any way. Too many people, too much going on... too many girls sniffing for money rather than love. Usually he hated it, but tonight...

Tonight he just needed to get out, to have a few drinks and enjoy the city of LA for what it was. Mindless, soulless, and empty. Really, the more he dwelled on it the more Logan was sure those were exactly the sort of qualities he'd been looking for in home, and he grinned as he polished off his drink and left enough cash on the bar for tip and his tab.

Ignoring the many writhing and twisting bodies on the dance floor, Logan made his way to the exit, ready to head home for the night. Passing the pool table, he pushed open the door and stepped into the night. The streets were busy, but he didn't mind, he'd cut through the alleyway and take a shortcut home.

The lamp light flickered as he stepped into the darkened ally, blinking out just as he headed into the shadows. It was alright though, he wasn't scared, he wasn't some sweet sixteen princess with her virtue to worry about... Logan was tough. He was eighteen now, and he had no fear.

"I get bored easily," Joe said with a small smirk, amused by the kid's assumptions that he'd just keep him around forever. "I've killed people I like a hell of a lot more than you."

"So why me? What do you want?" Logan asked, still not believing the other man would hurt him... despite the fact that he'd killed him only hours before.

"I was bored," Joe said dryly, slumping down onto the couch, sprawled comfortably, his legs spread. "Needed something to do. And I felt sorry for you."

"You were bored?" Logan snapped, looking pissed off all over again.

He knew he couldn't leave, not without bursting into flames at least, but he refused to spend another minute in the same room as the other man.

Stalking off, Logan went to find something to pass the time with.

Joe smirked in amusement, watching the kid go. In a minute or two he'd get up and follow him, find him something to eat, but for now he was content to just sit there.

There wasn't much to see. Bathroom, bedroom... just a normal home.

With a sigh, Logan settled into the bedroom, flopping onto the bed without invitation. Laying down, he was surprised at how tired he wasn't, having thought that the night would have taken a lot out of him. He was just hungry, maybe a little restless too.

For awhile, Joe sat where he was on the couch, but eventually he got to his feet and headed down the hall, finding the kid on the bed. "So who the fuck are you, anyway?" he asked. "So I know who the hell I'm feeding."

Logan sat up a little and shook his head. "Why should I tell you my name?" he asked seriously.

"So I know who the fuck I'm feeding," Joe repeated, lifting one knee onto the bed, moving closer to the kid who was sprawled out there. "You're hungry, I know you are."

Logan couldn't deny that, and he frowned a little as he watched Joe move closer.

"Logan," he said finally. "Logan Echolls."

"Okay," Joe said simply, then held out his arm again, his wrist turned toward Logan. It had healed perfectly from the night before, smooth, white skin over blue veins and he just held it there, waiting.

Logan looked at the offered wrist curiously, and then shook his head a little as he moved closer. "No. You owe me more than that. You hurt me more than that. I want something more," he said pushing the arm away from him and growling a little.

"I owe you?" Joe asked with a snort, looking amused. "I owe you shit, kid, so don't start fucking around with me." He wasn't interested in playing some bullshit game.

"You killed me. Took my life," Logan argued, ducking his head a little so he could nuzzle against the man's neck, baring his teeth.

He wasn't sure Joe would let him, but he was damn well going to try.

"Yeah, that's what I fucking do," Joe said, grabbing Logan's hair at the back of his head and pulling him again. "It's what you're gonna fucking do starting now."

Logan cried out sharply, his head snapping back as he growled again.

"Because of you. You did this to me."

"Yeah and someone did it to me, get the fuck over it," Joe said with a laugh, his hands tightening in Logan's hair. It was actually sort of funny, it was fun to fuck around with him.

"Fuck you, that's not my fault," Logan gasped, glaring hard and trying to get free from Joe's hold on him.

"You wanna fucking eat or not? I can leave you here to fucking starve," Joe snapped, ignoring the other statement. It didn't matter whose fault it was, it was fucking done.

"You won't leave me," Logan said, growling again. "Couldn't keep me here if you did anyway."

"Where the fuck are you gonna go?" Joe asked with a snort. "Gonna walk out into the sun? I don't give a fuck where you go once it gets dark."

"Just feed me and then let me go," Logan growled.

"I offered you," Joe snapped back, then pulled away and offered his wrist again. He didn't know why he was so against letting Logan feed from his neck. Maybe it was all part of fucking with him.

The hunger inside him was too much to ignore, and even though it wasn't what he wanted, Logan took the other man's wrist.

Teeth sinking into flesh, Logan closed his eyes as he took his first real drink. The blood wasn't quite warm enough, not quite fresh enough, and his gut told him something better was waiting for him after night fall. He drank though, not stopping until he was sure he'd had his fill.

It left him feeling... strange. As if suddenly he was drawn to Joe. Bound to him.

It was always a strange feeling, a deep sort of pull inside of him, but he'd grown used to it over the years. He'd grown to like it just a little bit, though sometimes he hated the connection it drew between them.

"Feel better?" he asked when Logan pulled away.
